Bridging the Cancer Gap – Community Conversation

Researchers from the University of Notre Dame Australia are inviting people with lived experience of homelessness and those who work closely with people experiencing homelessness to join an important community conversation about cancer care and access. This event is an opportunity to share your experiences, perspectives and ideas to help improve cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment for people without stable housing.

Why attend?

People experiencing homelessness often face significant barriers to accessing healthcare, including cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment. Researchers have been examining these challenges and are now seeking community input to help shape practical solutions.

At this interactive community conversation, researchers will:

Share key findings from their research
Discuss recommendations for improving support and access to cancer care
Explore barriers and enablers to cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment
Gather community perspectives to inform future research, policy and advocacy

People with lived experience of homelessness or housing insecurity
People who have supported a friend or family member with cancer while experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity

Honorarium

Attendees will receive an $80 honorarium in recognition of their valuable contribution. Light refreshments will be provided on the day.
