Breast Cancer Surgery – Community Conversation

This will be an online Community Conversation about a new approach to treating aggressive breast cancer. Our research team is developing tiny particles that can travel through the bloodstream to find breast tumour cells. During surgery, a specific red light can then be used to switch on these particles to destroy any cancer cells left behind. We hope this will reduce the need for additional repeat surgery and help more women keep their breast.

This Community Conversation is your opportunity to ask questions, share what matters most to you, and help shape the direction of this research. Your input is genuinely valued.

This is a conversation, not a lecture. Your insights will help shape future breast cancer research and strengthen funding applications so they better reflect the priorities of people with lived experience. All feedback will be de-identified, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

The Community Conversation is open to anyone with a connection to breast cancer — whether as a patient, survivor, carer, or community member.

An $80 honorarium (Australian based gift card) is offered to attendees.

Because we aim to include a range of perspectives, places are limited and expressions of interest will be reviewed to support a balanced mix of attendees.
