Involvement Opportunity: Traumatic Brain Injury – Consumer Advisory Group

Do you have lived experience of a traumatic brain injury, or are caring for someone who has? Do you want to make a difference and help improve the lives of traumatic brain injury sufferers? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

The opportunity

If you are passionate about improving outcomes of traumatic brain injury, including following a concussion, and shaping the future direction of this field, a fabulous opportunity awaits.

Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia is a newly founded not-for-profit organisation working to improve the lives of patients and their families following traumatic brain injury (TBI) of all severities.

To ensure Connectivity’s work delivers the best outcomes for TBI sufferers, we are searching for 8 people to join a Consumer Advisory Group which will guide the education, information, and research that is required to help people with TBI and their carers.

Your contribution and input will help clinicians, researchers and the community gain a deeper understanding of TBI.

Your time and effort will help make a lasting impact on all those affected by traumatic brain injury.

The facts

We are encouraging applications for people over 18 years of age, of any gender and cultural background, who have a lived experience of TBI.

You will be offered a $35 per hour honorarium for your involvement.

As a member of the Connectivity Consumer Advisory Group, you will be required to attend meetings online via Zoom 2-3 times per year to;

  • Assist in identifying gaps in information available about TBI for sufferers and the community
  • Advise on most effective ways to reach TBI sufferers and convey information
  • Identify how Connectivity can best help people with TBI, including concussion.

It is expected the Connectivity Consumer Advisory Group will run for 2 – 3 years.
