Recognising WA Carers

The Consumer and Community Involvement Program recognises the important service that carers provide the Western Australian community.

It’s estimated 320,000 people provide care for a loved one in WA. Carers come from all walks of life, backgrounds and age groups, with each caring role being unique and having different needs. Many CCI Program community members are carers and provide important insights to health and medical researchers that will improve outcomes for the individuals they support.

October 11 to 17 this year was National Carers Week – a week that recognises the positive impact carers have in Australia, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Carers Week #ShareYouCare theme encouraged Western Australians to share their support for a family member or friend in an unpaid caring role, or voice their support for the contribution that carers make to the community. For more information visit Carers WA.
