About the Project and the Involvement Opportunity
This research aims to find new ways to disarm harmful bacteria that cause lung infections in people with cystic fibrosis. We are studying a specific bacterial protein that helps bacteria establish infection. By targeting this protein, we hope to make the bacteria less able to cause disease.
Bacterial lung infections can be life-threatening and may require intensive antibiotic treatment. Input from people with cystic fibrosis, particularly those who have experienced these infections, is important. Their lived experience can help us ask relevant questions, focus on what matters to patients and guide research towards better ways to prevent and treat these infections.
