Help shape WA’s first CCI Showcase and Awards
We’re looking for consumers to help us shape an exciting new event celebrating consumer and community involvement in research across WA.
Next year WAHTN and the CCIProgram will host the 2027 WA CCI Showcase and Awards of Excellence – the first event of its kind in Western Australia.
The Showcase will bring together consumers, community members, researchers and organisations from across WA to celebrate what meaningful Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) in research looks like in practice.
The day will feature consumer and researcher co-presentations, poster presentations and real examples of successful partnerships, as well as the inaugural Awards of Excellence in Involvement, recognising outstanding collaborations between consumers and researchers.
We want consumers to help us plan it
To make sure the Showcase reflects what is important to consumers and communities, we’re inviting experienced consumers to join the event Organising Committee.
Committee members will work alongside representatives from health services, universities, research organisations and other WAHTN partners to help shape the event – including its content, format and how we meaningfully recognise and showcase consumer involvement.
We’re particularly keen to hear from consumers with experience being involved in health or medical research, and we welcome people with a range of backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences.
The first committee meeting is planned for October 2026, with involvement continuing through to the Showcase in April 2027. An honorarium of $50 per hour is available for consumer involvement on the committee, in line with CCIProgram guidelines.
