ABOUT THE POSITION
ANPC and the Health Futures Institute seeks to understand the basis of disease in a continuum of health to disease, from conception to death, in order to optimise therapies. Researchers from these organisations have a desire to educate, inform and seek community involvement, as well as obtain consumer feedback in the area of personalised nutrition through all stages of life.
We are seeking diverse community representation from this group, from parents of young children, people living in regional/remote locations, people from diverse cultural backgrounds through to people enjoying the twilight of their years. It is important that you have an interest in personalised nutrition as a potential form of therapy or health intervention.
WHAT AM I EXPECTED TO DO?
- Offer advice about current and potential research projects. This could include feedback on projects being considered or underway.
- Develop what areas of personalised nutrition should be targeted as a matter of priority.
- Specific tasks could include – document review including grant applications.
- Becoming a research buddy on individual projects.
WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
An interest in personalised nutrition as medicine or treatment intervention/therapy..
HOW LONG AM I EXPECTED TO BE INVOLVED?
The meetings will be held every 4 months starting in July 2021 and you will be invited to be involved for two years with the option for an extension at that time.
WHERE WILL THE MEETINGS BE HELD?
Meetings will be held at the Australian National Phenome Centre, Murdoch, but you will be offered the opportunity to join remotely if required.
WHAT SUPPORT IS OFFERED?
$35 per hour honorarium. Training and support is offered by the Consumer and Community Involvement Program.
