About the project
This project will explore what interventions/psychosocial treatments people with brain cancer used to manage personality and behaviour changes, how effective these interventions or treatments were, and what could be done to better support patients and their carers.
This will be achieved by looking at what research has been done in this area, interviewing people with brain cancer and their carers to learn about their experiences, and interviewing health professionals to understand what management strategies are currently offered.
It is hoped that by having a clearer understanding of the existing management strategies, how useful or effective they are and what carers need, in the future, we will be able to tailor support that help individuals and their families to manage tumour related personality and behaviour changes and improve quality of life.
About the position
We are looking for 3 carers of people with brain cancer to be part of the research team. As this research is focused on brain tumour related personality and behaviour changes, ideally we are looking for carers of patients with brain cancer who have experienced personality or behaviour changes (e.g., irritability, anger, paranoia, apathy, emotional lability etc) since receiving their diagnosis or treatment.
