Living Longer vs Living Better: Community Conversation
This Community Conversation invites you to share your thoughts and experiences about how ageing affects daily life, health and wellbeing. Researchers are exploring how our bodies change over time and how research might influence the way we age, including approaches that aim to support people to maintain health, function and quality of life for longer. In a relaxed and supportive online discussion, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your own experiences, priorities and questions about ageing and what research should focus on. Your insights will help shape future research directions so they better reflect the things that matter most to people in the community.
The objective of this Community Conversation is to understand what matters most to people about how we age, and how ageing research should be shaped to support health, function and wellbeing across the lifespan. All views and ideas shared will be de-identified before use. The themes and priorities that emerge from this conversation will be used to inform current and future research projects in the ageing space.
Experience required
An interest in the science of ageing and how research might change the way we age, along with a willingness to share your perspectives on what matters when thinking about health, function and wellbeing over time.
This event is open to people at any stage of life who are interested in how research might help us age well, including younger and mid-life adults as well as older people. We welcome involvement from people with diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, abilities and life experiences, and encourage voices that are often under-represented in research to take part.
An $80 honorarium (Gift Card – for use in Australia) is offered to attendees.
Registrations are essential. Because we aim to include a range of perspectives, places are limited and expressions of interest will be reviewed to support a balanced mix of attendees. To register your interest, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
