HealthSpan: Supporting healthy living – What matters? Community Conversation

What is HealthSpan?

Healthspan is the period of life we spend free from the most debilitating and costly impacts of chronic disease. It represents our healthy, independent, fulfilling and productive years, when we enjoy a good quality of life.

The University of Western Australia are exploring the establishment of a HealthSpan Institute focused on protecting and maintaining health across the lifespan to support Western Australians to live well for longer. This Community Conversation invites you to help shape that vision.

About the Community Conversation

This Community Conversation aims to hear from people who want to be proactive about protecting and maintaining their health across different life stages.

Together, we will explore:

  • What healthy living means to different people
  • What supports independence, wellbeing and quality of life as we age
  • Priorities for services, education and research that help people stay well
  • Barriers to maintaining health, including language, access, and trustworthy information

Your perspectives will help inform how a future HealthSpan Institute could better support the Western Australian community.

Who Should Attend?

We welcome adults aged 18 and over from a broad range of ages, backgrounds and life experiences, including:

  • People who currently feel healthy but want to protect their future health
  • People looking to improve certain aspects of their health
  • People who find maintaining their health challenging
  • Parents and caregivers of children or young people

No specific health condition or lived experience is required.
