Brain Health at Home: Shaping the Future of Cognitive Care – Community Conversation
The CaRER-Tech Community Conversation will bring together consumers and carers in an online session. We will create a supportive space for participants to share their lived experiences, discuss barriers to cognitive rehabilitation and identify opportunities for more accessible, home-based supports.
The insights gathered will directly inform the development of a game-based cognitive retraining platform designed for use at home. Key themes from the conversation will be synthesised into a public report and will shape the framework of future research and grant proposals. Participants will also have the opportunity to express interest in continuing their involvement as Research Buddies, providing ongoing advice and input as the project develops.
The Community Conversation aims to:
- Understand real-world challenges faced by individuals experiencing age-related cognitive decline and their carers, including barriers to accessing support and rehabilitation.
- Identify opportunities for improving accessibility, engagement, and usability of digital tools that support brain health at home.
- Ensure community voices guide the design and direction of research and technology development, making the platform meaningful, inclusive, and relevant to those who need it most
- Invite interested attendees to become Research Buddies, providing continued input into the project’s next phases and future grant applications.
Experience required:
- People aged 60+ years who are living with cognitive decline, dementia, or ageing-related cognitive challenges.
- Carers of loved ones with dementia
- People who feel at risk of cognitive decline/dementia who are not yet showing symptoms.
An $80 honorarium (gift card) is offered to attendees. Registrations of interest are essential.
Please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form below if you’d like to be considered for this Community Conversation. Because we aim to include a range of perspectives and lived experiences, places are limited and EOI’s will be reviewed to ensure a balanced mix of participants with the relevant lived experience.
